Segja má að þann 9. maí árið 1982 hafi saga vaxtarræktar á Íslandi hafist formlega af fullri alvöru. En þennan afdrifamikla dag var allra fyrsta vaxtarræktarmótið á Íslandi haldið á Broadway og hver veit nema vaxtarræktarfræin sem dreifðust um heiminn með epísku kvikmyndinni Pumping Iron hafi þarna átt sér einhver ítök.

Það leikur ekki á tveim tungum að vaxtarræktin á sér afar langa, margslungna og heldur betur magnaða þróunarsögu þar sem engu munaði að sagan sú hefði aldrei orðið að veruleika. Því ef satt skal segja þá vilja margir halda því fram að ef ekki hefði verið fyrir tilstuðlan nokkurra örlagaríkra og þýðingarmikilla atburða í framgangi mannkynssögunnar þá er með öllu óvíst að vaxtarræktin hefði nokkurn tímann orðið til.

Ólafur Þór Guðjónsson competed in Classic Bodybuilding and Junior Classic Bodybuilding at Loaded Cup Danmark on the 5th of april. Ólafur came in his best shape so far and WON the Junior Classic Bodybuilding class and placed 4th in the Classic Bodybuilding class.

Final placings at the 2015 IFBB Icelandic Championships.

The 2015 IFBB Icelandic Championships will be held on the 2^nd and 3^rd of April in Háskólabíó theatre.

As we come to the end of 2014 we start to think about some new years resolutions. Things or actions we could do better in the year 2015. Most people set their goals on the 31´st of Desember, full of hope and optimism but for some reason forget them in the end of January.

The holidays are filled with temptations, not only on Christmas, but for some reason the entire December seems to be packed with holiday treats of some kind.

The biggest fitness and bodybuilding competition that has ever been held in Iceland will be in Háskólabíó on the 14th and 15th of November.

USN sponcered athlete Ryan Terry will be teaching a posing class at the Iceland Fitness posing seminar in World Class Laugar on the 31th of Oktober.
